Local Safeguarding Children Boards

Following Lord Laming’s inquiry into the death of Victoria Climbie, the Children Act 2004 required all Local Authorities across England and Wales to set up a Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB). The task of each LSCB is to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in their area.

Children in Wales

Children in Wales is the national umbrella body for organisations and individuals who work with children, young people and their families in Wales. We are a membership body, and our members are drawn from the voluntary, statutory and professional sectors. We work with and for our members to promote their interests and meet their needs.
